Site and Operations Manager (m/f/d) – Minden/Plovdiv

As Site and Operations Manager Minden/Plovdiv (m/f/d) you will manage all aspects of running a local production unit, including the full scope of Production, Engineering, Planning & Fulfilment, Quality & Operational Excellence and Logistics. You will oversee daily activities to maximize efficiency, productivity, and profit for the business. In addition, you will take responsibility for fiduciary, HSE and integrity for both sites and liaise with other local managers.
Your responsibilities
- Implement Business Line/Global Division manufacturing strategy in country within area of responsibility. Provide input to the global division/product group strategy. Formulate local strategic and operational objectives in line with BL/Division to drive business profit, customer satisfaction and operational effectiveness.
- Lead manufacturing functions and operations teams and processes. Improve manufacturing technology and capability in line with the Division/BL Operations strategy. Ensure that all operations are conducted in an appropriate and cost-effective manner. Improve operational management systems, processes, and best practices.
- Preparation of budgets and forecasts. Ensuring that the defined targets are achieved by initiating improvement measures as required. Responsibility for achieving operational cash flow, on-time and on-cost delivery of projects, on-time delivery (ROTD) and cost reduction. Increase productivity and OEE in line with S&OP. Ensuring production KPIs including quality monitoring.
- Function as site manager for higher-level topics (Fiduciary, HSE, Facility), as well as representative activity to external interfaces
- Responsible for compliance with an HSE plan harmonized with ABB guidelines.
- Ensuring that all necessary training measures relating to health, safety, environmental protection, and compliance standards are carried out. They are authorized to suspend all activities on site in the event of HSE and integrity violations and to take the necessary steps in the event of a situation to ensure that ABB employees and other persons present are not endangered.
- Ensure that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, and managed. Build an effective, capable, and high performing organization. Develop talent and review effectiveness.
Your background
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or a related field
- Min. 10 years of experience in the role of plant manager for a manufacturing factory
- Experience in lean manufacturing and lean organization (quality + lean)
- Strong analytical, logical, problem solving and organizational skills
- Leadership experience
- Fluency in written and spoken English and German with a strong and proactive commitment
