Responsibilities:
- Building a cargo book and covering positions with group tonnage and/or market vessels
- Access to a variety of bulk commodities and a global overview of available tonnage
- Negotiating and fixing of cargo contracts and charter parties
- Intensify/develop existing and attracting new business relations and networks, both local and abroad
- Identify new business opportunities and actively chase them
- Establishing trustful relations with commodity trading companies and dry bulk ship owners/charterers
- Monitor and analyze freight markets and industry developments
- Create long term marine and chartering/brokerage strategies corresponding with the companies targets
Profile:
- You have an apprenticeship or a university degree in shipping or the maritime sector.
- You gained a experience in a similar position, preferably with a shipping, trading or cargo broker company
- You have an existing portfolio and network of dry cargo clients and partners
- You are well acquainted with all standard shipping terms of the industry
- Your strength and focus is a deep commercial knowledge and acumen in the market and solid negotiation skills
- Your working mindset is service-minded, customer centric, strategic and pro-active
- You are capable of fluent and business settling English and German language. Italian would be a plus, but not a must.
- You are a teamworker, based on trust and respect but at any time also able to act standalone
